SPRING/SUMMER 2026

manifesto
dewdrop in spring birdsong through clouds
from the other shore across vast waters
the same light pecking away our universe
we swim in air and a sound sparkles on trees
we cannot see the first days of our hair by the doorway
no seaweed in the lake of our eyes a door in the waves
no need to open it we stand there not talking it is ours
by the sand beach we leave our shoes and scribble
a letter in the snow that melts as long as the letter lasts
before the lake of fire we converse with the dead and the insects
and rewrite the misty unknown dressed in nature
we avoid the sky and shake all the trees in the world
until their rings come alive again and the moving years
we are sitting still an ocean funneled in the warm snow
of the heart that scares off seagulls and they fly over us
like a cloud that hangs above like a tree that gives shade to late dews
as they beam into each other stealing away from acrid memories of rain
